Yes, providing the wiring is correctly insulated and conforms to British Standards. Obviously, any bare or exposed electrical wiring is a NO! NO! If in doubt contact Greenserve Ltd. for guidance.
All electrical sockets and switches should be fitted at a safe distance approximately 12 inches from a sink. This is as a precaution to avoid any spillages coming into contact with an electrical supply.
Be it commercial or residential property, it is common for electrical wiring to deteriorate or become damaged, over time. This leaves residents or employees at the risk of electrical shocks etc. Therefore, it’s necessary to upgrade wiring if you believe it to be at risk!
It is possible but you would need to get it signed off by a competent qualified electrician if you’re not qualified to do so. Without a qualified ‘sign off’ that confirms the installation conforms to industry regulations (NICEIC) your household insurance policy will probably not cover any damage caused by the installation if found to be the cause of any damage.
